The Assabet Valley Patriots '01 squad entered playoff weekend in Hooksett as the #2 seed in the division. Led by Coach Al Lithchfield along with Scott Young and Tom Hopkins, the Assabet Valley Mite Major ‘01s posted a 2-0-1 record. The team registered a 3-3 tie with the NH Avalanche on Friday night and then followed that up with victories over the Falcons (6-1) and Warriors (4-1) on Saturday to gain the top seed heading into the finals on Sunday.

Led by the Red, White and Blue lines centered by Tyler Young, Jack Dempsey and Tommy Hopkins that were flanked by wings Anthony Vallerand, Will Cohen, Nico Evangelous, Eamon McNamara, Preston Nearis and Victor Otero along with the defensive armour of Matthew Cormier, Grant Litchfield and Devin O’Brien, the team hoisted the Championship trophy with and impressive 6-0 blanking of the Avalanche.

Not to be outdone was the Brick Wall goaltending tandem of Cam Rubin and Joe Sharib, allowing only 5 goals in the tournament.

Congrats to the Assabet Valley Mite Major 2001s – NEHL American Division Champs.
